• Abstracts may only be submitted exclusively online via the congress website.
• Abstracts must be submitted on or before the closing date, 10 September 2012. The organisers reserve the right to reject any abstract for failure to comply with submission instructions mentioned on the congress website. Please note that late submissions will not be considered.
• It is possible to submit more than one abstract. However, only one presenting author per abstract is permitted. Whilst it is possible for one presenter to have several poster presentations, please be aware that it is not normally possible for a presenter to make more than one oral presentation in the programme.
• Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors. No corrections are possible after the submission deadline. The abstract will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.
• The presenting author must accept full responsibility for the content, submission and presentation of the abstract, and retain full copyright of their abstract and presentation. By submitting an abstract, authors give consent and authorise the organisers to publish or submit for publication their abstract, presentation, picture and biography, and to include them in any congress publications.
• Please note that submitters can go back and make changes to a submitted abstract at any time up to the deadline. To edit a submitted abstract please use the personalized link received in the abstract submission confirmation e-mail.
• If you would like to withdraw a submitted abstract, please contact us at abstracts@wpa2013bucharest.org.
• All authors accepted for presentation must register for the congress and pay the registration fee before end November 2012 in order to confirm their presentation. Failure to do this could result in losing your presentation slot.
• All accepted abstracts will be included in the congress programme booklet and monograph of abstracts.
Abstract requirements
• Submitted abstracts must be original. Abstracts previously published or presented at other international scientific meetings cannot be submitted.
• Abstracts should give details of the originality, relevance, innovation, results and practical applications of your work.
• The correct topic must be selected to ensure correct scoring. The content of the abstract must be topic related. It is the responsibility of the submitter to ensure that abstracts are submitted under the correct topic.
• Abstracts should be written in English.
• Abstracts must be no more than 400 words in length.
• The title should be brief (100 characters maximum) and objectively describe the abstract.
• Abbreviations should be defined. References or bibliography should not be included in the abstract.
• Submissions must be made in plain text format (no tables, graphs, charts or images are permitted).
• We recommend that you prepare your text in a word processing programme (e.g. Microsoft Word) and then copy-paste the final text into the online abstract submission form.
• Authors are requested to indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation on the abstract submission form. Abstracts that are submitted for oral presentation, but that are not selected for oral communication can be referred to the poster sessions. The decisions of the Scientific Programme Committee are final.
Abbreviations should be defined. At least two bibliographical references should be included in the abstract.
Disclosures
In the case of a conflict of interest, an abstract cannot be accepted if the conflict of interest disclosure has not been ticked on the abstract submission form. If the research or one of the co-authors has a conflict of interest, this must be clearly stated.
All accepted presenters will be required to fill in a full disclosure of financial interests and other affiliations once their abstract has been accepted for presentation.
